About Shlavim

Shlavim was established in 2006 to provide Israel’s disadvantaged youth and their families with opportunities for a better education and financial independence.
Shlavim supports thousands of children and families in their journey to achieve success and improve the quality of their lives.
Shlavim operates intervention programs throughout the country to advance education, strengthen the community and promote employment within one of Israel’s most vulnerable population groups, the Haredi socioeconomic
periphery Partner with us to help our children and their families to break the cycle of poverty and create better lives.

Rabbi Ilan Kosman

CEO

Rabbi Ilan Kosman has wide experience mentoring groups and developing programs within the third sector, with focus on the socioeconomic periphery. He has 15 years of management experience. Rabbi Kosman is a graduate of Yeshivat Chevron, holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and an MA in public policy. Rabbi Kosman believes that the mission of Shlavim is to ensure that each person is able to aspire and to fully realize their aspirations while demonstrating responsibility towards society around them. He lives with his family in Kiryat Yaarim (Telz Stone).

Chani Spiegel

Director of Education Program for Girls and Office Manager

Channi Spiegel is experienced in the fields of project management, employee motivation and program development and evaluation. She believes that the mission of Shlavim is to provide equal opportunities for every child in the Haredi periphery, helping them to succeed in life. In pursuit of this goal Channi works to improve the educational environment and to provide educational, pedagogic and therapeutic tools. Channi is a graduate of the Ono Academic College with a BA in education and social studies and is currently studying for an MA in nonprofit management at the Hebrew University. Channi lives with her family in Beit Shemesh.

Perale is the holder of a BA in education from the Beit Vegan College and an MA in education systems management from the Herzog College.

Menachem Roth is experienced in educational and therapeutic management. He is a graduate of Yeshivat Chevron and has a bachelor’s degree from the Jerusalem College in the field of Oral Tradition תושב"ע. Menachem sees the mission of Shlavim as the development of an environment within educational institutions that encourages multidisciplinary development and personal growth. Menachem lives with his family in Jerusalem.

Director of Sefer for Boys, Maavarim, and Yachdav Youth Group

Yisrael Shilo has a great deal of experience working with at-risk youth. He believes that the goal of Shlavim is to realize the personal, emotional and educational potential of every child in Israel. Yisrael has a BA from the Ono Academic College in education and social studies (specializing in at-risk youth) and MA degree from the Hebrew University in nonprofit management. Yisrael lives in Beit Shemesh.

Sarki Chachanovitz is experienced in the fields of special education and socio-pedagogy. She has a BA degree in special education from the Beit Vegan College. Sarki believes in realizing the potential of each child in Israel by reinforcing and developing the child's environment. She lives in Beit Shemesh with her family.
